Kofte does not secretly track you. We run no servers, require no accounts, and embed no custom analytics software. Your knitting projects and settings are stored locally on your phone. To process the optional Pro upgrade and understand basic app health (like crash rates), we rely on the standard infrastructure provided by Google Play.
The Kofte app code does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. We do not use third-party analytics services (like Firebase or Mixpanel), advertising networks, or custom tracking technologies.
Because Kofte is distributed through the Google Play Store, Google automatically collects and provides us with anonymized, aggregated metrics. This includes general data such as install counts, device models, Android versions, and crash reports. We use this strictly to ensure the app functions correctly across different devices. We cannot link any of this data to you personally.
All app data (including your projects, counters, settings, and preferences) is stored locally on your device using Android's standard data storage mechanisms. This data is isolated, not accessible to us, and not synced to any cloud service by Kofte. If you uninstall Kofte, this data is permanently deleted.
Kofte Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase. To handle this, Kofte includes the Google Play Billing Library.
When you launch the app or attempt to upgrade, Kofte communicates with the Google Play Store app installed on your device to check your license status (to see if you are using the free or Pro version). The purchase transaction itself is handled entirely by Google, subject to their privacy policy. We never see, process, or store your payment information, name, or Google account details.
Kofte uses the Google Play Billing Library solely to verify and process the Pro upgrade. No other third-party SDKs or libraries are included in the app.
Kofte does not collect personal data from any user, including children. The app is safe and intended for users of all ages.
If our practices change, we will update this page. Given our fundamental design philosophy of keeping Kofte local and offline, we do not anticipate any changes to how your data is handled.
